JEE Main 2018 Date and Time
The dates for the JEE Main 2018 have been set as 08-04-2017 at 9:30 PM – 12:30 PM for Offline (Conventional Paper-Pen based format) and 15-04-2017 – 16-04-2017 in two shifts namely 9:30 PM – 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

The below-mentioned sequence of steps needs to be followed to complete the application for the JEE Main 2018.
- Aadhar Authentication: the candidates are required present their Aadhaar Card Number which will later be validated with the UIDAI data. The candidates who have applied for Aadhar need to apply for JEE (Main) by entering 14 digits Aadhaar Enrolment ID/UR No. (Including slash) printed on the slip issued by Aadhaar center after submitting the request. Candidates who have passed or appearing in Class XII examination from the states of J&K, Assam & Meghalaya need to enter the passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other valid Govt. identity number provided they should select the city of examination in these states only. - Verification of mobile and email id
- Upload scanned image: These images comprise of Candidate photograph (in JPEG format, 4 KB – 40 KB and 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm), Signature of the Candidate (in JPEG format, 1 KB – 30 KB and 3.5 cm × 1.5 cm), and Signature of the Guardian (in JPEG format, 1 KB – 30 KB and 3.5 cm × 1.5 cm)
- Examination fee payment: The fee for the offline exam is INR 1000 for General/OBC candidates, INR 500 for General/OBC girls, INR 500 for all SC, ST and PwD candidates. However, for the offline exam, the fee is INR 500 for General/OBC candidates, INR 250 for General/OBC girls, INR 250 for all SC, ST and PwD candidates.
The fee can be paid online through Credit or Debit card and offline through e-challan at Syndicate/Canara/ICICI Bank in cash only. The candidates are required to check the status of fee payment at CBSE website (www.jeemain.nic.in) and if the status is ‘OK’ the candidate will be able to take the printout of Acknowledgement Page.
JEE Advanced 2018
The JEE (Advanced) 2018 will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2018. The entire JEE (Advanced) 2018 Examination will be conducted in fully computer-based test mode. Read more on our blog titled JEE Advanced to go online completely.
Criteria for JEE Advanced 2018
- Candidates should be among the top 2,24,000* (including all categories) in Paper-1 of JEE (Main) 2018.
- The percentages of various categories of candidates to be shortlisted are: 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and the remaining 50.5% is OPEN for all. Within each of these four categories, 5% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates.
- Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1993. Five years relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates.
- A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in consecutive years.
- A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time either in 2017 or 2018.
- A candidate should NOT have been admitted in an IIT irrespective of whether he/she continued in the program OR accepted an IIT seat by reporting at a reporting center in the past. Candidates whose admission at IITs was canceled after joining any IIT are also NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2018.
