CBSE Class 10 results are out: Who performed well? Girls or Boys?

The Central Board of Secondary Education has declared the results of class 10 today afternoon. The results were supposed to be out by 4.00 p.m. but CBSE had declared the results earlier. The examination was held from 5th of March to 4th of April 2018 in more than 4000 centers across the country.

Out of the 16,24,682 total students, 14,08,594 students have cleared the exam bringing the overall pass percentage to 86.7. More than 1.3 lakh students have cleared the exam with more than 90%.

 

So, who fared well? Girls or Boys?

The top scorer in the exam is tied with a score of 499 out of 500 among 4 candidates, out of which 3 are girls. The top position is tied among the following candidates:

  • Rimzhim Aggarwal from Bijnor.
  • Sreelakshmi G from Cochin.
  • Nandini Garg from Shamli.
  • Prakhar Mittal from Gurugram.

Anushka Pandey from Gurugram and Sanya Gandhi from Ghaziabad, both scored 489 marks in the exam require a special mention. Both the girls have shown exemplary grit and perseverance in scoring such high marks in the differently abled category.

In a nutshell, the girls have outdone the boys in the exam. The performance of girls is better than that of boys by 3.35%. The pass percentage of girls in the exam is 88.67% and for the boys is 85.32%.

Regions that fared well:

The top three regions that did very well in the exams are:

  • Thiruvananthapuram: 99.6%
  • Chennai: 97.37%
  • Ajmer: 91.86%

Special mentions:

A total of 3760 differently abled students took the exam and the total pass percentage in this category was 92.55%. 21 students in this category scored above 90% which is commendable.

  • Candidate’s Roll Number
  • Centre Number
  • School Number
  • Date of birth

The results have shown that girls by no means lag behind boys in any field.
