JEE Advanced Exam Date Announced to be held on 21st May 2017

The wait for IITJEE aspirants’ got over on Sunday, when meeting of JAB (Joint Admission Board), held at IIT Madras, Chennai, resulted in announcements for JEE 2017 exam. The date for JEE Advanced 2017 came out to be May 21st, 2017. Along with this, many other changes have been made from the last year. As per new guidelines from ministry of personnel, public grievances and pensions, OBC-NCL (other backward classes-non creamy layer) certificates issued after April 1 will be considered valid for JEE (Advanced) 2017. Also, the cut-off for the aggregate marks in Class XII for SC and ST candidates has been lowered from 70% to 65% to help in filling seats for reserved candidates. Besides, the number of aspirants increased from 2,00,000 last year to 2,20,000 this year. This has been backed by the projected increase in no. of seats in IITs in 2017 by 500. Furthermore, to make the registration and admission process easier for aspirants, IITs will introduce video tutorials and SMS services covering registration process, filling the form, results and other announcements, etc.
